Kangna Ranaut lived in Manali with her parents. Kangna left her parents house when she was eighteen and came to Mumbai to live with Aditya Panscholi who was her family friend. The actress had a three year relationship with him and Aditya promoted her in Bollywood and got her Pahlaj Nihlani’s ‘I Love You Boss’.

Kangna signed the movie opposite Big B and she even posed nude for a controversial poster for the movie, but when Big B was replaced with Shatrughan Sinha, Kangna walked out of the project. Kangna did some Hindi theater to polish her acting skills.

In 2005, she was signed by Anurag Basu for ‘Gangster’ and although the director came up with a story that he spotted Kangna in a coffee shop and persuade her to act in his next project; The fact remains that the actress struggled for five years to get her first project.

Kangna was paired opposite Shiny Ahuja and Emraan Hashmi in ‘Gangster’ and she sure impressed everyone with her performance. In her second movie, Kangna played the role of Parveen Babi and she won applause for her performance. Kangna has managed to get some amazing projects- courtesy her mentor Anurag Basu and Godfather Mahesh Bhatt. Kangna’s forthcoming movies are Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro’ and Suneel Darshan’s ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’.
